Lessons are available for all ages and skill levels, and all of Jenny's lessons are delivered via Zoom.
Piano Curriculum
Jenny offers one-on-one piano lessons tailored to each individual student. Whether you’re looking to learn piano for fun or aiming to pursue exams, Jenny’s lessons are designed to meet your personal goals and needs.
Academic Curriculum
Jenny offers one-on-one academic tutoring tailored to each individual student. Lessons are designed to follow outcomes based on the Alberta Curriculum and can be customized to support the student’s specific needs. Jenny can also collaborate with the student’s teacher to create a plan that best supports their learning goals.
Music Theory
Theory helps us learn the language of music, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of it. As soon as students begin their music lessons, theory is integrated into their lessons. If students choose to pursue RCM exams at Level 5 and beyond, we schedule a separate slot dedicated to the theory portion.
Preparing for Success: Exams and Beyond
By completing exams, students develop essential skills such as goal-setting and resilience. After dedicating time and effort to their preparation, they can take pride in their achievements and the skills they’ve gained.
Bonus! Students can earn high school credits upon completing their Level 6, 7, and 8 piano and theory exams, which are equivalent to Grades 10, 11, and 12 Music.
Students are thoroughly prepared for both their practical and written exams through mock exams and masterclasses. These sessions allow students to showcase their exam pieces in front of peers, parents, and other teachers. They provide an opportunity to "test drive" memorized pieces, build confidence, manage performance anxiety, and receive valuable feedback.
Students also develop critical listening skills by offering constructive feedback to their peers. Other teachers share insights and suggestions to help refine and enhance performances. These complimentary "prep classes" are part of our commitment to ensuring every student’s success.
Happy Practices!
At the start of each lesson, students share how many "happy practices" they’ve completed during the week. Each student has their own Dojo Monster that tracks their practices. At the end of the year, these practices turn into Dojo Dollars, which students can use to shop at Jenny's store!
Students can also earn Dojo Points by completing challenges, memorizing pieces, performing for others, and much more!
